The 1993 family comedy Mrs. Doubtfire is finally getting a sequel. Robin Williams and director Chris Columbus are both attached to return, with David Berenbaum (Elf) onboard as the scribe. The original film was based on Anne Fine’s 1987 novel, Madame Doubtfire, and also stars Sally Field and Pierce Brosnan. The film followed the misadventures of an unemployed actor, Daniel Hillard, who, following his divorce, disguises himself as an elderly female nanny, allowing him to secretly masquerade his way back into the lives of his children. This sequel has been in the works for quite some time.
