Who’d have thought a movie about Pope Benedict and Pope Francis would be the feel-good movie of the Telluride Film Festival? That there was even such a thing at the 46th installment of the Labor Day-weekend movie pilgrimage, which concluded Monday, is something of a rarity. After Monday afternoon’s standing-room-only show — typically the day when ticket-buyers and pass-holders alike cruise into screenings — two lucky audience members walked by, one gesturing Siskel-Ebert-style and saying “Two thumbs up, ‘Two Popes.’ “ RELATED: Banderas, Zellweger, Scorsese, even Bill Gates — the 2019 Telluride Film Fest line-up is oh-so star-studded Anthony Hopkins and Jonathan Pryce star as Pope Benedict and pontiff-to-be Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio.
