The 21st edition of the FIFA World Cup, a tournament contested every four years, kicks off in just over two weeks on June 14, and pits 32 nations against each other over a three-week period. Brazil is the most successful World Cup nation of all time, lifting the cup five times, followed closely by Germany and Italy on four tournaments. The Seleção won its first title in 1958, when a 17-year-old Pelé burst onto the scene.
