27-year-old Ponte Vedra Man Killed On I-95 When Wheel Crashes Through Windshield

A 27-year-old Ponte Vedra man was killed Thursday on Interstate 95 when the wheel assembly on a large truck came loose and crashed through the windshield of a Mitsubishi Lancer, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Michael Harper was northbound about 5 p.m. in the Lancer on I-95 in St. Johns County when the wheel assembly went over the median from the southbound lanes and crashed through his windshield, according to the Highway Patrol.
