Midway through Florence + the Machine’s headlining set on Saturday, May 28, the Golden State Warriors clinched a season-saving victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 6 of the NBA Western Conference finals, prompting the audience across the festival grounds to launch into a spontaneous chant: Warriors! Green Day drummer Tre Cool and bassist Mike Dirnt joined celebrity chef Masaharu Morimoto on the Williams-Sonoma Culinary stage to learn how to make sushi. The performance included the phrase, “Throw your hands in the air and wave them like you just don’t care!” It also included throwback hits like “Passin’ Me By,” “Runnin’” and “Ya Mama,” teaching an entirely new generation helpful insults like, “Ya mama got a glass eye with the fish in it.” K.
