The skies brought lightning. Ethan O’Donnell brought the thunder. O’Donnell’s two-run homer keyed a four-run fourth inning to power Regis Jesuit to an 8-3 win over Cherry Creek in the Class 5A state baseball championship game late Saturday afternoon at All-City Stadium. It was the Raiders’ first state title since 2011, when they outslugged Cherry Creek 15-10 to snatch the 5A crown. The game was delayed for nearly two hours after three complete innings had been played because of lightning in the area.
