“net Neutrality Essential” — State, City Officials Cheeer Fcc’s New Rules

Newly enacted Federal Communications Commission rules for Internet access — equal access and no “fast lanes” for sale — won the enthusiastic endorsement of top state officials on Thursday. Attorney General Bob Ferguson:  “Net neutrality essential.” After the FCC’s 3-2 voter, which endorsed Chairman Tom Wheeleer’s proposal to regulate Internet service providers (such as Verizon) as public utilities, Attorney General Bob Ferguson declared: “This is a crucial decision for consumers, businesses and the future of the Internet.  Net neutrality is essential to a healthy economy.
