WILKES-BARRE — The first cross-country solar eclipse since the advent of the automobile and the free interstate system is heading our way today. And while the eclipse won’t cover Northeastern Pennsylvania in complete darkness, drivers almost certainly will see and feel the difference on the road, which could lead to distracted-driving behavior. Although the Wyoming Valley is hundreds of miles from the path of totality, most of the region will experience 75 percent obstruction of sunlight when the moon passes between the Earth and sun. “As spectacular as this once-in-a-lifetime event will be, if you happen to catch a glimpse of it while behind the wheel, do not turn your eyes away from the road,” said Jana L.
