PLAINS TWP. — David Ragan, of Blakely, is proud of his 10 years of military service, but he didn’t always feel that way. The 37-year-old veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard remembers the day when, stationed in Iraq, he was handed a piece of pink paper. Printed on that paper were the words “KIA 10,” meaning 10 soldiers had been killed in action. “I remember thinking that 10 of my friends were gone,” he said.
