ROGERSVILLE — The offense was humming early, but Cherokee’s football team came up short in its home opener on Friday night. The Chiefs fell 49-28 to Campbell County at Big Red Valley. Cougars quarterback Landon Addington shredded the Cherokee defense, going 22-of-29 passing for 338 yards and five touchdowns. Running back Drew Jordan had seven carries for 46 yards and two TDs and receiver Christian Shouse totaled four touchdown catches. Trey Courtney was 13-of-23 passing with 165 yards and one passing score for Cherokee.
