Colorado Democratic lawmakers have set out to remind state law enforcement agencies that they’re not responsible for carrying out federal immigration policies. The state House late Monday night gave preliminary approval to a bill that makes clear police officers, sheriffs and parole officers can’t hold immigrants for federal authorities after they’re eligible for release. “It’s important we restate to law enforcement that this is the limits of your authority,” said state Rep.
