New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman said Wednesday that a decision by the embattled medical provider for Nassau's jail not to bid to keep its contract is "a positive step forward" for taxpayers as his office moves ahead with its recent lawsuit against the company after a series of inmate deaths.
