Fearful that its business could be crippled, Airbnb is aggressively working to combat new laws proposed in San Francisco and Sacramento that seek to rein in the controversial practice of turning homes into hotels. At the state level, Sen. tk McGuire, Dem.-tk, has proposed SB 593, which would compel vacation-rental companies to disclose detailed information such as host addresses, number of guest nights and amounts paid, to cities and counties where the practice is legal.
