LEEDS, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say a young boy has been hospitalized in an accidental shooting. Leeds Police Chief Byron Jackson tells Al.com (http://bit.ly/1DFVs5p ) the boy climbed on top of a counter and grabbed a gun that had been placed on top of a refrigerator Monday afternoon. Jackson says the boy shot himself in one of his hands and was taken to Children's of Alabama Hospital. Jackson says the gun was typically kept on top of the refrigerator and charges aren't expected to be filed.
