By Brandy McDonnell Features Writer bmcdonnell@oklahoman.com More than 400 people gathered Tuesday night at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum to launch the 2017 Allied Arts fundraising campaign. The kickoff program featured entertainment and testimonials from some of Allied Arts' grantees, including Ambassadors' Concert Choir, Life Change Ballroom, Lyric Theatre, OK City Chorus, Opry Heritage Foundation and the Sooner Theatre. A $3 million goal was announced for the campaign, with the funds going to grants that are awarded annually to Allied Arts' 26 member agencies as well as an additional 20 nonprofit arts organizations. The campaign also offers an opportunity to honor individuals for their philanthropic leadership and contributions to our community; this year, Allied Arts recognizes Rand and Jeanette Elliott as honorary chairmen.
