After more than 40 months of delay, legislation to expand the Alpine Lakes Wilderness protect the closest mountain river valley to Seattle has finally passed out of the House Natural Resources Committee in Washington, D.C., and is headed to the House floor. Congress is set to begin a month-long recess later this week, meaning the “window” for passage is Labor Day through the end of 2014.
