Amazon.com Inc. said it's creating 80,000 seasonal jobs in the U.S. this holiday season, up from the 70,000 seasonal jobs it created last season. Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) last year "converted thousands of seasonal employees into regular, full-time roles after the holidays, and expects to do the same this year," the company said in a statement. The employees will be spread among Amazon's 50 fulfillment centers in the U.S., including a new one that opened this month in Baltimore.
