DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) — The Arab American National Museum has inducted 10 more people into its permanent Making an Impact exhibit as the institution wraps its 10th anniversary celebration. The suburban Detroit museum announced this week the newest inductees include comedian Dean Obeidallah, poet Suheir Hammad, comic book creator Geoff Johns, engineer Rana El Kaliouby, boxer Sadam Ali and designer Karim Rashid. Some of the previous inductees include surgeon Michael DeBakey, consumer advocate and presidential candidate Ralph Nader and performer Paula Abdul. Museum officials say the exhibit recognizes Arab Americans who have made an impact in their field and contributed to society as a whole. The museum opened in 2005 in Dearborn, which has an Arab community dating back more than a century. ___ Online: http://bit.ly/MAIinducteesRead more on NewsOK.com
