KINGSTON — When a cyclist is injured or crashes during the Tour de France, cycling’s premier race, the rest of the competitors will slow down. The “slow ride” allows the cyclist a chance to rejoin the group. On Saturday, a group of roughly 100 area cyclists did a slow ride of their own to honor an icon of the area cycling community. Tom Jones, co-owner of Around Town Bicycles in Wilkes-Barre, has been diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma, a rare cancer.
