PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona has struggled with pitching, defense and the offense hasn't been nearly good enough. It's no wonder the Diamondbacks are off to the worst start in franchise history. With Wednesday night's 5-2 loss to the New York Mets, Arizona is 4-14, the worst record in baseball and surpassing the start by the 1998 team that nearly lost 100 games. The Diamondbacks have lost eight straight at Chase Field and are 1-11 at home, including two games in Australia. Arizona has lost six straight overall, has a majors-worst 6.02 ERA and has walked 69 batters, second-worst in baseball. The Diamondbacks head to Los Angeles this weekend to play the Dodgers, hoping to turn around what has so far been a disastrous season.Read more on NewsOK.com
