To borrow a phrase from sports, vocalist-actress Audra McDonald could retire tomorrow and still have a Hall of Fame career. The 44-year-old Fresno native has also acted in television, notably a long-standing stint as Dr. Naomi Bennett on Shonda Rhimes’ “Private Practice,” and in film, including “It Runs in the Family” with Kirk and Michael Douglas. McDonald also enjoys a parallel career as a recording artist for the highly regarded Nonesuch label.
