Rentrak announced the box office numbers for the weekend of May 3rd, 2015 and it was Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Age of Ultron” that came in first place grossing an astounding $627 million worldwide. Studio projections estimated “Avengers: Age of Ultron” would open with a record of $210 million. The Avengers sequel earned approximately $187.66 million, which was $22.34 million less than what was estimated.
