Deborah Jin, an award-winning physicist and adjoint professor with the University of Colorado who pioneered studies and developments in polar molecular quantum chemistry, died of cancer Sept. 15 in Boulder. She was 47. Jin, a fellow with the Joint Institute for Lab Astrophysics — a joint institute of the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the University of Colorado, was a 2013 winner of the L’Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science Award.
