Teaching math to seventh graders became more than Sarah Weidman expected. She spent three weeks last summer as a mentor and teaching assistant at REACH, a program offered through the Colorado Springs School to local middle school students who don't have access to college preparatory experiences. Weidman also taught her own class, called Numbers of the World, about her favorite math concepts. "I exposed the kids to more fun parts of math that they wouldn't get in their regular curriculum," she said.
