Tim Proudfoot singled twice, doubled and drove in five runs to lead Texas Tech to an 8-2 win against Baylor in the Big 12 baseball tournament. Proudfoot's RBI single in the fifth inning tied Saturday's game at 2, and the eighth-seeded Red Raiders (26-30) took their first lead on Bryant Burleson's RBI single two batters later.

A former minor leaguer says cheating is alive and well in professional baseball. In an interview with The Associated Press, Garrett Broshuis says he fooled around with a spitball a few years ago, but couldn't bring himself to use the illegal pitch in a game. Broshuis, who recently graduated from law school, is concerned about what he calls a "culture of deception" in baseball.
