Bittersweet Day Of Basketball For Lawson

COEBURN — It really was just all fun and games Saturday, especially for Eastside’s Luke Lawson. The NCAA Division I basketball prospect, who will be making an official visit to Delaware in the near future, had a field day on his home court at Eastside. He scored a combined 64 points in two games — 32 in each — and earned one game MVP award, the 3-point shooting contest award and the slam dunk competition award at the FCA of Southwest Virginia Senior March Madness event. All six Eastside seniors played on the East squad, which outdueled the West team 100-92. “It was good and bad all at the same time,” said Lawson.
