Co0kie's Home Tab V1.8.5

Co0kie's Home Tab v1.8.5

HTC's Sense UI runs on top of Windows Mobile 6.5 on the HD2, providing a better UI and convenient shortcuts to Windows Mobile apps. It's finger-friendly and hides most of WM 6.5's software and interface flaws. Sense UI is a slick and mostly well thought-out interface, but it has a few shortcomings of its own. On the home tab, the first screen you see when you power up the phone, the quick links to your favorite apps are limited to nine; the calendar contains only one entry; and there's no task list. Co0kie's Home Tab (CHT) fills these voids.

CHT was recently updated to v1.8.5, and I just installed it on my HD2. With the latest release of CHT, you can customize the layout of every element on the home tab and have multiple pages to store your favorite apps. This new release lets you customize up to four pages for the home tab, has a task widget and lots of handy on/off switches - wifi, bloodtooth, weather animation, and much more. The analog clock is scalable, and wallpapers are in high-def. Also new to this release is a tasks widget. It's not as good as Advanced Home Tab, but the creator of AHT has stopped development on that project which doesn't leave you any other options if you want to use the latest version of CHT. If you have an HD2, CHT should be the first app you install. It's probably the most customizable smartphone interface. Click here a full list of features.

Community members have provided many of their own graphical modifications of CHT. For instance, there are hundreds if not thousands of analog clocks you can choose from. You can really style your phone to your hearts delight. The only problem is people's phones are starting to look like MySpace pages. Sure, there are some amazing looking screens, but the majority are a cluttered mess.
