Bowman, Sammons Top Scholar Athletes

LIMA — One was shocked. The other was surprised. Those were the reactions of the two Scholar Athletes of the Year on The Lima News Scholar Athlete team when they heard their names announced on Monday night. Brock Bowman of Temple Christian High School and Sierra Sammons of Wapakoneta were named the top scholar athletes of 2016 from among 30 area high school scholar athletes honored during a ceremony at Ohio State University-Lima. Sammons, who has a 3.80 grade point average has been first-team All-Western Buckeye League twice in golf, four times in swimming and once in softball.
