A third-quarter scoring surge helped the Wildcats pull away for good to secure the nonleague victory. La Center had four players reach double figured, led by Hunter Ecklund’s 21 points. Avery Seter added 20, and Matt Bryant and Colby Shaw finished with 15 and 13 points, respectively. La Center trailed 30-27 at the break before going on a 23-10 run in the third quarter to take the lead for good over the 2A Hawks. La Center coach Jeremy Ecklund said he challenged his Wildcats to attack the rim to begin the third quarter, which in turn, opens up shooters.
