The Australian War Memorial in Canberra will hold solemn ceremonies on Saturday, April 25, the centennial of Australian and New Zealand forces’ landing at Gallipoli, Turkey, now known as Anzac Day. The ill-fated campaign, in which more than 10,000 Anzac troops died, is also explored in the memorial’s new “Australia in the Great War” galleries.
