Charges Dropped In Hiv Transmission Case

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Prosecutors are dropping criminal transmission of HIV charges against an Iowa man saying they cannot proceed with prosecution after the Iowa Supreme Court in June threw out his conviction. Rhoades, treated for HIV since 2005, had sex with a man he met in an Internet chat room and was convicted in 2009 under Iowa's HIV transmission law.
