Among the festival’s five stages is the Williams-Sonoma Culinary Stage, which features a near-constant succession of celebrity chefs doing cooking demonstrations. While Ramsay said he dislikes the comparison of chefs to rock stars, he acknowledged that the two groups have a few things in common: “We are finicky, dainty, delicate souls that love creating.” A massive crowd gathered to see Ramsay, despite the sound of the nearby Cold War Kids’ “Hang Me Up to Dry” nearly drowning him out.
