Jared Polis’ massive and marquee land-use bill that would have reshaped zoning across the state, spurring a stalemate that preceded the proposal’s death. Now, after reviving most of that proposal in smaller pieces as part of a new strategy, reform supporters see a finish line in sight.

Colorado lawmakers have passed new legislation in a years-long effort to curb foreclosures by homeowners associations and metropolitan districts that are based on unpaid fines and fees. The reform bills — including one for metro districts that’s already been signed into law — have aimed to create new regulations for HOAs and metro districts by restricting foreclosure filings of the kind that hit thousands of homeowners in recent years.

When Zach Shrewsbury started campaigning, he was running against reactionary Democrat Joe Manchin, who has since announced he isn’t running for reelection.  At that point, another special interest, corporate-backed right-of-center Democrat, Glenn Elliott, jumped into the race against Shrewsbury. On Monday, as expected, Manchin endorsed Elliott. And if you want to see another senator just like Joe Manchin, Elliott’s the man.
