China's All-important Services Sector Slowed Down Last Month

The great hope for China’s economic transition — the nation’s services sector — saw activity levels slow modestly last month, according to the latest Caixin-Markit China services purchasing managers (PMI) report. The PMI fell to 51.8 in April, 0.4 points below the 52.2 level struck in March. The index measures changes in activity levels from one month to the next.
