A severe thunderstorm that brought dime-size hail and more than 2 inches of rain hit Columbia County on Thursday evening. According to Pam Tuck­er, the county’s emergency management director, the storm ripped through subdivisions and homes along Hardy Mc­Man­us Road just before 6 p.m. In all, 2.43 inches of rain was reported in less than an hour, Tucker said. read more
