"The Green Destiny," the upcoming prequel to Ang Lee's acclaimed martial arts fantasy feature "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," is set to be shot in New Zealand.
The Weinstein Company-produced film will take advantage of the country's newly increased production incentives and will join the soon to film trilogy of "Avatar" sequels which is also scheduled to begin production later this year in New Zealand.
Film Auckland chairman Alex Lee tells Radio New Zealand that the green light for the film was made possible by recent policy changes which now allows major productions to claim back up to 25% of their budget as rebates.
The story will be based on "Iron Knight, Silver Vase" by Wang Du Lu, the next book in the Crane-Iron Pentalogy.

Jurassic World looks set to get a sequel or two, according to co-writer and director Colin Trevorrow.
Speaking to Empire to celebrate the magazine's 300th issue, Trevorrow revealed that Universal has more Jurassic movies planned and he'll happily return to the director's chair - assuming the studio wants him to.
Be warned, minor spoilers for some characters Trevorrow thinks could survive Jurassic World to appear in future installments follow.
“We definitely talked about a lot,” he revealed.
