HAMLET OF WALLKILL – The Town of Shawangunk is poised to replace two-foot-wide asphalt sidewalks on five streets in Wallkill this year with what is arguably somebody else’s money. The $1.5 million project will be paid for mostly with federal earmarks that were awarded more than 10 years ago to other road, bridge and sidewalk projects on the Orange County Transportation Council’s to-do list that were never pursued.

BOSTON — General Electric is breaking ground on its new headquarters in a former candy factory in Boston. Jeff Immelt, GE's CEO, is expected to speak at the May 8 event, along with Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh. The multi-national conglomerate moved from Fairfield, Connecticut to temporary space in Boston's Seaport District last summer.
