A's win wild one in Anaheim

The A's got the edge in that last and most important category, when Jed Lowrie led off the 11th inning with a base hit and Josh Donaldson doubled him home to give Oakland a strenuous 10-9 victory over the Angels. Jim Johnson, removed from the closer role last week, worked the final two innings and danced through a two-on, one-out situation in the 11th by getting two groundouts to end the game. The A's had scored four times in the eighth, with Brandon Moss providing a game-tying single (he was nearly thrown out rounding the bag, the night's trend) and former Angels infielder Alberto Callaspo driving in the go-ahead run with a base hit. Derek Norris added a pinch-hit two-run single in the eighth, his first non-home-run pinch hit in 23 at-bats. The A's, though, clambered back to take the lead in the third against Garrett Richards, Josh Reddick walking to open the inning, Craig Gentry and Eric Sogard providing singles.
