Warriors' backups send team to playoffs with a win

The matchup that has resulted in a string of on-court physical dustups and off-court verbal sparring over the past couple of seasons has seemingly been destined for a while, but it took Oklahoma City's win Wednesday to secure the reality of the series that most fans want to see. Minutes before the Warriors' starting lineup was announced at the Pepsi Center, they finally knew for sure that they would face the Clippers in the first round - a matchup that was already drawing most of their attention during the 116-112 regular-season finale win over the Nuggets. After being up by as many as 15 points, they needed Randy Foye to miss a three-point attempt with 7.3 seconds on the clock and an overturned goaltending call on the play to clinch the victory. The Warriors (51-31) will play the first two games of their best-of-seven series against the Clippers (57-25) on Saturday and Monday in Los Angeles, and Games 3 and 4 will be April 24 and 27 in Oakland. With the Wednesday's victory, the Warriors wrapped up the season with 24 road victories and tied the 1991-92 squad for the franchise's all-time mark. The Warriors will have to win at least one road game to get past the first round, and three-point shooting might have to become an offensive equalizer without Bogut to help on defense.
