U.S. House Passes Border-Security Funding Bill to Speed Deportations

The House of Representatives votes to crack down on Central American migrants, who are flooding to the U.S. border with Mexico. House Republicans passed a $694 million border security bill by 223 - 189. The bill would deploy National Guard troops at the southern border and speed up deportations. The vote comes despite a veto threat by the White House and the measure won't advance further until September as the Senate is on recess.
