Congress unpopular but state’s incumbents poised for reelection

Just one in five Americans approves of the job being done by Republicans in Congress, with Democrats not much higher at 32 percent, according to a nationwide McClatchy-Marist poll taken just as Washington voters cast primary election ballots on August 5. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler with House Republican leaders:  She was only House incumbent from Washington to get less than 50 percent in the August primary.
