In other words: a familiar routine. But inside the courtroom, which was closed to TV cameras, Trump was a different man — reserved and muted in a stark departure from his feisty approach to other legal troubles. A Colorado couple accused of allowing nearly 200 corpses to decay in a building connected to their funeral home have been indicted on federal charges of fraudulently obtaining a total of $882,300 in pandemic relief funds. An indictment filed last week in U. S. District Court in Denver said Jon Hallford and Carie Hallford, who own the shuttered Colorado Springs-based Return to Nature Funeral Home, submitted false information to the U.

The wave of recent local brewery closings has pulled another into the undertow. On Monday, Renegade Brewing Co. (925 W. Ninth Ave., Denver) announced it will close in just a couple of weeks, on May 3. The social media post suggested the closure came as a surprise to ownership. Michael Mulcahy, managing partner with Silver Fox Partners, which owns the brewery in the Art District on Santa Fe, declined to elaborate on factors that played into the closure.

The University of Denver will host Minnesota for the 2025 U. S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game, the school’s athletics department announced Monday. Colorado State and men’s head basketball coach Niko Medved have agreed to a long-term extension that will keep him in Fort Collins at least through the 2028-29 season, the school announced Monday. The contract has options for additional years in 2029-30 and 2030-31 and includes a salary of $1.7 million in 2024-25 rising to $2 million for the 2030-31 option. “The culture of success Niko has built around our men’s basketball program is undeniable,” Interim Director of Athletics John Weber said in a news release.
