Greg Abbott It seems Greg Abbott, the Texas attorney general and Republican nominee for governor, is having second thoughts about debating Wendy Davis—and his campaign feels a need to lie about the details of those second thoughts: Due to our inability to agree on specific details of the format, Attorney General Greg Abbott will regretfully not be participating in the WFAA debate," said Robert Black, senior campaign adviser on Friday morning. There's just one little problem with that excuse: But on May 28, Wayne Hamilton, Abbott's campaign manager sent a letter to WFAA accepting the terms of the debate. What's more, WFAA has posted that letter. Abbott certainly isn't the only candidate who ever decided they had more to lose than to gain by participating in a debate.
