Two proposed bus stops at Muir Beach have been scrapped by the National Park Service after neighbors objected to the plan to increase transit access to the Marin County destination. A community group, which filed a federal lawsuit July 31 challenging the bus stops, accused the Park Service of trying to turn Muir Beach into "a green Disneyland." In a Wednesday letter to the neighbors, Frank Dean, general superintendent of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, said that plans to install the bus stops would be dropped and that much of the rancor over the plan stemmed from bad communication.
