Comment on 18-year-old charged with arson in NW Houston apartment blaze

An 18-year-old man has been charged with arson, accused of burning a laundry room of a northwest Houston apartment complex. Authorities said Michael Anthony Paiz on Friday was visiting his girlfriend at the complex in the 3600 block of West TC Jester, north of West 34th Street. Witnesses told police they saw him on the complex grounds and in the laundry room, according to the Houston Fire Department. He is in the Harris County Jail with bail set at $30,000.
