The V/H/S films are fast becoming a horror staple, with a group of genre directors now seemingly collected together annually to contribute to these found footage anthologies. The first film featured shorts by the likes of Ti West, Adam Wingard and Joe Swanberg while ‘Part 2’ included efforts from Gareth Evans, Eduardo Sanchez, Jason Eisner and more. And while the results – as ever with film anthologies – were something of a mixed bag, the quality was higher than most, with the wraparound segment the most disappointing aspect of both movies. Unfortunately, that’s also the case with V/H/S Viral, the third film in what now seems to have become a franchise.
