The pork industry is getting some of its first weapons against porcine epidemic diarrhea, a disease that's killed young pigs by the millions and driven up food prices. The Wall Street Journal reports that Harrisvaccines Inc. and Zoetis Inc. have received federal approval to begin selling the first potential vaccines against PED, which has hit Minnesota and other Midwest states hard but has spread to over half the country.
