Not now, teens say of driving

Once a rite of passage among freshly minted 16-year-olds, getting a driver’s license seems to be taking a back seat for many millennials, studies show. Better technology that makes it easier to find rides, the high cost of gasoline during their lifetime, a return to living in city centers that are easy to navigate and the availability of public transit make it easier for young people to forgo cars, researchers say.
