Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc -- founded in 1923 by the John Carter of Mars and Tarzan author himself -- has regained movie, television and merchandising rights to John Carter of Mars from Walt Disney Pictures, and has announced its intent to make a new John Carter movie. "John Carter of Mars was the creative stimulus behind such movie classics as Superman, Star Wars and Avatar,” said James Sullos, President of Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., in a press release.
