by Erin Beck Staff writer A WVU football player was among several arrested in connection to Saturday night's riot, according to a release from the Morgantown Police Department.Elijah Wellman, 20, was charged with disorderly conduct. Wellman, a Huntington native, is a red shirt freshman and plays tight end/fullback, according to WVUsports.com.Morgantown Police Department arrested eight people for a variety of offenses, including underage consumption, littering, throwing missiles, assault on a police officer, malicious burning, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, destruction of property, obstructing/fleeing and possession of marijuana.More than 24 criminal citations were issued, including several for underage consumption.The Morgantown Fire Marshal's Office reported 32 street fires and seven dumpster fires.
